During medieval times, pewter amulets, ornaments, and religious pictures, became popular. The craftsmen of Diessen, in Bavaria, were famous for their ambition and artistic talent. The Schweitzer family has kept this tradition alive for over 200 years. They base their pewter art on original designs- often hundreds of years old. The accuracy and intricacy of the finished pieces are testimony to the pewter caster's art and skill.
